Conversations with Ashton

1. I was running Ashton's bath water: I guess I got it a little too hot.
He was straddling the tub and looked up at me holding his ***** and said "Hot Barnacles!!!!"

2. " Mom are you going to get old? "
Yes. "and then die".
He has this notion that only old people die and that little children or Mommy's or Daddy's can die. I have tried to explain this to him, but whatever!!

3. "Hey buddy, do you want some hot chocolate?" it is warm and Delicious!

4. I was dancing in the car, you know being obnoxious with the kidos. and Ashton says to me. "Mom, when you dance it gives me a headache!"

Effortless Potty Training

If Nathan is running around in just a diaper or nothing...he will now make it to the bathroom and climb up on the toilet and go pee!! Then he says "YEA!!" and wants a high five.

I know it's just the begining, but it's a start. So I am hoping and praying that by this summer I will be
D I A P E R FREE!!!
(well not me personally, but ya know!)

He is soooo proud of himself!

The most inquisitive child ever!!

My Son Ashton is the most inquisitive child ever. I have to be on my toes. He ask questions about everything.... His teacher last year absolutely loved him because he was the only two yr old that talked and he kept them going!! This year he is one of only two boys in class and 6 girls!! The other boy is a bit shy and depends on Ashton's charisma. Here are a few examples of his curiosity:
1. Parking in a parking garage he wanted to know:
Why is is called a parking garage?
What is is made of?
How do they do it?
Why do they build them.

2. Elevator to the restaurant:
What is this button for?? Setting off the alarm!

3. Walking to the car ....
" What is this button for"....setting off the emergency alarm in the parking garage! ( I had to wait for the security to call to tell them it was a curious 3yr old.)

Forward to the next morning...

We went to see the Santa Express at our Union Station. 1. He tried to set off the escalator emergency STOP button! I was quick on that one!!

2. Admiring the Gingerbread village....
"Daddy is the candy real or pretend???" Real. So we can eat it.
There is more... but I would be here all day. He basically ask question about every thing, every person. He wants to know how everything works and why.

He remembers everything too! If you tell him why and how. He will remember and when he sees it again he will tell me all about it and say "Right, Mommy?" "Right, Ashton, you are smart!"
He will definitely make a big impact on the world one day!

My last two yr old

Nathan is two. He is the baby. He is the last one to go through the terrible twos antics!! Right now his big things are:

*Helping me cook(which is very annoying),
*Getting toilet paper and shredding it all over the house(he literally runs in circles around my house wrapping the walls)
*Opening the 'frig and helping himself
*Being adamant about NOT doing something, things that he has always done(like wearing certain clothes) Okay this one gets to me. HE is a BOY!! HE is TWO!!
*Flushing things in the toilet!!
* Basically anything that will get the entire crew in trouble.

He doesn't mean to. He is very sweet. I know that he is in a time of discovery, but so help me when they happen I want to loooooooooose it!
But in light of it all, he is a funny little boy! He has such passion when doing things and adds a wonderful expressionism to it! One like no other! Example: The other day I turned off the TV and he was turning it back on.. So I turned the cable box off which won't allow you to turn on the TV. You have to have the remote. Well, he found the remote and just happened to hit the correct button!! He thought he was "IT". I was prancing around with that remote like it was a magic wand and he was the owner. Not to mention he was NUDE!! (I wish I could have videoed the whole thing but who knew it was going to turn out that way.) It was the most hilarious thing ever! Lonnie and I were laughing soo hard. In turn made Nathan behave even more silly.

Makes all the antics worth it!

Daily Bread

I seem to be having this reoccurring problem in my house. I usually get home from picking Rae up around 3:15 3:20. I get everyone a snack. Then it seems to be endless "I Wants" I usually start getting dinner going after snack time. During this time No one will get along. So someone is constantly coming to me in the kitchen saying " so and so did this to me" !!! I don't want to cook dinner anymore, it has become dinner impossible!! Lonnie usually doesn't get home until after dinner.
So then after I finally get it cooked and ready...I start getting plates made up. I set them each a salad on the table. (of course they all have to have something separate. I can't just make one salad and they all eat it. I make it and pick out of each of theirs what they don't like). I get everyone at the table to start eating salad while I finish their plates. I get all of that done and get my own plate fixed and sit down.
Then someone will say " I need..................." Whatever it may be I get up and get their seconds or more drink or whatever it is. I sit down and Nathan dumps his water all over the table and it starts leaking on my lap. So again I have to get up and get a towel to dry this up. Then Ashton says he is not going to eat and hides behind the couch!! FINE!! I don't want to argue with him. I just want to eat before the food gets cold.
I sit down again. Then I remember that I have bread in the oven. I get up to get it out, cut it up and serve it!!
Awesome. I get to sit down and eat!! Then Ashton hollers from the bathroom "needing" help, well he chants this " mom come wipe my butt, come wipe my butt, come wipe my butt" in a deep voice until I get there. I get that done. Wash my hands.
Finally I get to sit down and eat my COLD dinner. By that time everyone has asked to be excused and I get to eat alone!!(sad)

Happy Thanksgiving

The Moms have eyes!!!

As I was cleaning up the kitchen after dinner....Sydney, my five year old comes to me. Holding a Build a Bear catalog.
Says to me: " Mommy, Mommy I want to show this to you. I wan't this on my Christmas list!"
I say: "Hold on one minute and I will turn around and look"
Syd says: " That's okay Mommy, I know you have eyes in the back of your head."
I nearly fell to the floor in laughter!!

brownie hunters

Ashton and Sydney are notorious for "being" "right"!! Especially with each other.

A commercial for the new episodes of Bounty Hunter came on.

ASHTON: "The Brownie Hunter????""

SYDNEY: "Yes, Ashton you know they hunt for Brownies!!!!""

I am assuming they mean the ones you eat!

It's been so long...

I did not realize that it has been sooo long since my last blog posting. We have been extremely busy with school, soccer, pta fundraisers, etc....

So here is the latest.
Rae and Syd both play soccer.... I don't think either team has won a game. Raegan is 7 1/2 and plays U8. She is just now gaining the courage to "step it up". She has played Goalie a couple of times. That is really scary. I can't imagine what that is like. I think she is brave! Her close friend's mom is the coach this year. I think she has done a fantastic job of coaching the girls. She has worked really hard on defense this year. Next year we will work on offense. We just didn't want the girls to get "creamed" this year.

Sydney basically plays on a team where the coach is on the field with them coaching them along the game. Raegan played the same for 2 seasons.
I always thought that Sydney would be my "go getter" when it came to sports. Well she isn't. I think she would rather be a ballerina!! She does really well in practice, but when it comes to the game she has absolutely no focus!!! She was out there literally looking at her fingernail polish. I have always joked about kids like this and she is one of them. "O' Lord!! The assistant coach is a total anal freak. His daughter is like a little 5 yr old steroid soccer player. I can't believe the moves on this kid. So I think it drives him to drinkin' when all the others are just like Syd.
I find it to be a little funny. I get a kick out of watching obsessive anal parents get their panties in a wad!!! Good grief we are not breeding Olympians!! THEY'RE FIVE!!!!!

Ashton is is usual self. He is in 3 yr old preschool for two days a week. I think he is just now getting the hang of it. He is one of two boys and 6 or 8 girls!! Hello! could we get some diversity!! Of course Ashton is an extremely social person. (I have no idea where he would get that) LOL.. So he gets along well with the girls.
This summer Ashton showed a great interest in animals, bugs, maps, etc. He watched "Man VS Wild" every day!! I believe that one day he will be just like Bear Grilles.
It is a relief to me that we have found his passion. He has never really been into his toys. I guess they are not adventurous enough. Though he has found Legos to be entertaining!!
So look out in about 20 yrs. Ashton will have his own cooking adventure show. It will be how to survive and make a gourmet meal in the wild with only a pocket knife!!

Now for Nathan. OOOOO Nathan. He is Two. Really should I say more????
He his into dumping out, squeezing out, spilling out, shaking out!!! Anything that he can empty from its original container, will happen!! He gets into markers and crayons. He will write on anything, walls, cabinets, my car, the list goes on and on!! He even writes on himself. He apparently is into self art! He took off his diaper last week and colored almost his entire body with a fuchsia pink marker.....even his penis was pink!! It was hilarious. He thought so too.
But he his my baby, and is sweet!! soo so sweet!! I love the age two. Because age three is hell!!!
They are soo into discovery(which would explain all of the above). It is fascinating to me to watch them discover and learn. The simple things in life that excite them! What we take for granted.

I really don't need to give you an update with me. Giving theirs pretty much sums it up.
I just strive to be a better MOM, WIFE, Person, friend...everyday! The first being the most important!!
Til next time...

Mini Van diaries

So, this is the freakiest thing that has happened. I put two of my kids in the van. I turn around to get the other two, I here something EXPLODE! Not kidding. Hello! what just happened. I look at Rae and Nathan to make sure they are okay. Thank you Lord, no one was hurt. Glass was everywhere. In the van, the house, all over the garage.

Apparently, this can happen for no reason. A few other mom's told me about how they have seen it happen to other peps cars.

Here are the pics.

BTW: $400 to replace!

Plus my husbands speeding ticket this week $140

Grand total of unexpected expenses(just this week) $540 bucks!!
As you know, last week it was the tire. Things come in three. Stay posted to the third! (hoping not!)

Nathan's Birthday

Nathan's birthday was last week. I have been so busy with school and being a Mom Taxi, that I haven't had a chance to blog about his birth or birthday. As some of you know Naty boy is our 4th and last child. Nathan was born at home. My midwife could not attend his birth, so we had a unattended home birth. Being we had already had previous home births, we felt very safe and confident in having him at home. Nathan was my only child born on his exact due date. R was 6 days early, Syd was two wks early, Ashy was two week late!

Weeks following Nathan's birth, every week when the moon would change phases I would have hours of "thinking I was in labor" but I knew it wasn't time. My Mom had come here a few days before. I was especially nervous about Nathan's birth for the fact that my oldest daughter was going to start Kindergarten on the 18th. I wanted him to come on his due date or wait until after the 18th, which was a Thur. I didn't want it to affect Raegan. Yeah right. once he was born she didn't want to leave him!

We ate dinner and got everyone off to bed. Mom and I stayed up for a while wondering if this would be the night. I thought it was so I called my friend Melanie, who is a doula and a best friend. By the time she got to my house I was having steady contractions and knew it was for real. She massaged my feet to help me relax, while Lonnie got the birth pool all filled up ( with warm water of course). This was around 11 O'clock at night. I labored for a few hours and was beginning to have doubts and wanted to give up. Then I remembered, with all my births, that when I get to that point it is time. It was transition time. Knowing this gave me back my confidence. Melanie and Lonnie didn't have a clue. (for those of you who know me, I am the exact opposite of my personality in labor, CALM!!!) I know, I know, surprising isn't it!! I remembered one big thing in giving birth was to make sure the cord did not prolapsed. I checked and I felt something weird, it was his EAR. Great! I could continue. I do remember at this point that everyone in the house was awake. Raegan wanted to be in there, but she didn't get up the stairs in time.( she wouldn't have seen a lot) I know this sounds really weird to you, but water births are not as gross looking as other births. It is a clean birth. I've had two reg births and two water births and I prefer the water birth.

He was born at 4:44 am on the 14th and was 8lbs 4 oz 21 inches. So cute, looked just like the rest. Tid bit: My girls were exactly one lb and one inch apart and so were the boys.(Ashy was 9.4, 22ins)

Nathan turned two this year. He so the 4th child. He doesn't need to talk, because everyone does it for him. He is very sweet and loving. He loves to be cuddled. He is absolutely fascinated with trucks, trains, tractors, planes, etc. He gets soooo excited when seeing them. It is very cute. He is also a very super sensitive child. He is not like the others in the way that he does not have a very big appetite and he is smaller than what my other children were at this age. He has thrown us for a loop. They have all been very similar and he has challenged us in different ways.

Here is a pic of one of his birthday gifts. (Ps I scored big time on this, we got it for $7.48 at Target!)

Natey boy, Mommy loves you tons!

First week of school

Raegan is loving school. She loves her teacher! She is making new friends.

Sydney is not so sure about school, but I know in a few months she will love it. Unlike our social Raegan, Sydney is shy and reserved.

We have all survived the first week of school and soccer practices.

Now, Mommy can't wait for Ashy to start in two weeks!

On another note: Did I tell you that Nathan tried to break my toe!!(just kidding) He dropped one of my metal mixing bowls on my foot/toe. The lip of the bowl hit it just right. The pain was so intense, I thought I was going to die!! Here's a quick pic. (ignore the worn polish :) )

Great Friends!

I would say that today was one of the worst days of my life, but no one died!! So, here goes. As all of you know I have been working on "Spirit Wear" all summer. Tonight was the Ice Cream Social, the first big event at school. This is the first opportunity for PTA to sell Spirit Wear. The last of my product was ready for pick up this morning. Getting the three children I have ready and a donut in hand, we head 31 miles west. Timing this just perfect to drive there, pickup the product, and get back just in time to beat the after school pickup rush @ 12:30 to pick up Raegan. I get there just great, kids are happy. I come home, kids are not happy. I hear a funny noise coming from the back. So I ask Ashton, "What was that noise?" "Did you throw something?" He just looks at me with a dazed and confused look. So from this I know he did nothing. He does not have a good poker face! So then I wonder, "what was that". I knew in about 3 seconds, when my tire went FLAT!! WHAT? It was the back right tire. I am thinking what happened. So I manage to get across two lanes of traffic and pull over. Terrified to get out, cars are zipping by at about 90 mph!! I look at the tire. There is a hole in the side. So I wonder if I hit something, I still do not know. What time was it?: 12:12. Where was I?: about 15 miles from home. Half way there. What time do I need to get Raegan?: in 18 mins!!, Yeah, don't think I'm gonna make it. So the first person I call is my friend "A" and have her pick up Rae!! Great, got that covered! Next I call Lonnie's office, get him on the phone as I almost hyperventilate b/c I am terrified I am going to get hit by one of the flyin' cars! He get's me calmed down to the point where I can tell him what has happened. So he thinks he is going to come and get me, yeah right! I totally knew that wasn't going to happen. This is when I threw a big fit about having triple A. (excuse me, NOT having triple A!!!) I have him call Kansas HWY PTRL. It takes them about 30 minutes to get there. In this time, Lonnie has me get the jack and spare ready, or we thought!! I try and try to get the bolt loose the holds the spare under the van. Those of you with MINI's understand this, right? oh no wait you don't, cuz all of you HAVE TRIPLE A and they do it for you!!! Only my husband is the tight wad! ( I am not a bit upset). So, sorry I got off track, the Hwy assistance guy gets there, and I just knew it was going to be a super weird pervert freak!! and........it wasn't!! He was a nice middle aged man who was the nicest person ever!( So thank you Mr. Nice guy for not being a pervert and hitting on me or being mean to my kids) He couldn't get the spare down either! Calls for back up, nope they couldn't do it. So what DO we do? Leave the van in the ditch and hitch a ride with the hwy assistance guy. Get all the kids loaded, make sure I have my product and come home. Then half way home I realize, I left Nathan's car seat in the van, b/c he already had one in his truck. When I get home, I have to call all my friends to search their basements, garages and attics for a spare car seat! Friend "J" was so generous to give me the one she uses for her son. I didn't want to take his, so I call my friend "K" who doesn't need that size anymore, hoping she would have one. She did!!! YEA!!!! She cleans it up and brings it right over. Then I go to load all of my boxes of Spirit Wear. Not going to fit in and Honda Accord!!! Well I could have made my kids ride on the roof!! But I was nice. So then I call in my friend "J" again and she came by and helped me take it all to the school and even used her "woman" power to help carry the boxes. So this is where the "Great Friends" comes in. I seriously would loose any ounce of sanity that I have if is weren't for friends like A, J and K!! So thanks a million girls!! You know who you are!! I love you! I love you!......................... Thanks for being sooooo G R E A T !!
PS. I did get everyone to the Ice cream Social in one piece!!
And to "A's" husband who is going take Lonnie to get the van tomorrow(Well if we can get the freakin' tire off)
I need a spa weekend vacation!! Anyone?????

It's a "Bugs" life !

The Flu BUG in both kinds has made it's way around all of my children. Stomach/Head cold FLU. Some have had both. It started with #2 then #3, #4 and now #1!! Dad and I have avoided it so far! We are countdown to three days before school starts! We had plans to party hard this week, but NO! We are home bound for two reasons: The HEAT and now the BUG! Hoping that they all get better before Thurs. We have school and socials to attend! Plus, tomorrow we have a birthday to celebrate!! (tune in later)

I totally wish HSM2 was on today !! LOL We are out of movies to watch, we need something new. I will be forced to deal with the Mt. Everest Laundry!!

Stir Crazy

Yes, we have all been stir crazy around here. It is seriously too hot to take the kids swimming. So it is officially "movie" week. As if they haven't watched enough TV this summer. They have been glued to The Disney Channel. Raegan and Syd are anxiously awaiting the premiere of "High School Musical 2".
Anyway, it is excessive heat this week with HD up to 115. I am sure some of you out there have had it worse, but here in the mid west, we have a thing called humidity! It's sticky.

I have been working on the school "spirit" wear. Here is what I have been working on. I got everything ordered last week. I cannot wait for it to all come in. It is going to be sooooo cool!

This is for the coolest PTA Mom's ever! and the female student body!

This is one is for the rest of the cool kids and Dads. The eye is a softened a little. (I couldn't find my final draft)

My apologies for being MIA. My kids have little tolerance for me being on the computer. I have been Mommy the Maid, Taxi driver, boxing referee.

They are ready for a change. It will be good for all of them to get back in school and have some structure and their friends!

Til next time.

My Sweet Sydney

Today is Sydney's fifth birthday. Lonnie and I took her to breakfast at Panera for muffins and quiche! She was quite surprised this morning when we woke her up at 7:30. Afterwards we went shopping at Target. She had birthday money from G'pa and G'ma. She had a great time spending that money without the influence of older sister!! Y'all know what I mean. Then we had a great time hanging out at the local aquatic center. At last, she choose to eat at T-REX cafe. For those of you not here in KC....If you have ever been to Rain Forest cafe....it is the same thing but with dinos! In fact it is by the same peps.

We have had a full day. It kept me busy "not thinking" of how fast they are all growing. But then it hit me at dinner and now that I am bloggin' about it, it brings me to tears.(tune in for future post). See below for "Sydney's story"

Me and my sweet Syd

Syd's birthday dinner.
A little bit on Sydney.
Sydney is a very sweet child. She cares a lot about other people. She is shy and stubborn. She has always been afraid of the carwash. She is the healthiest eater out of all of my children.(she has eaten salad since she was one).
Her beauty takes my breath away. Her eyes are as dark as ebony.
She was my hipster baby, you know the baby you could never ever ever put down.
When she turned three we had to put a stop to it. She has done well. She was my first child born at home and my only child born in the middle of the day. (others at night). Raegan was 2 1/2 when she was born. I had hyped up "baby Sydney" for months. Raegan had been swimming all the time I was in labor and then Sydney was born while she was napping. When she awoke. She came to see her new sister. She said "MY BABY, MY BABY!" . She was thrilled to have her. It was a real live baby "doll" to her. She did not let anyone but me and her hold Sydney. It was horrible how protective she was. Lonnie had to ask for permission to hold Syd. It was out of the question for my mom to hold her. It was cute. I was so proud of the proud big sister. She was sooo sweet to her. I remember having a feeling of such pride in the love she showed to her. Five years later.......it's a different story. They are still close sisters and I hope will always be that way.
I love you Sydney!

Vacation Update

So far not the best. We took the train from KC to STL. It was a 5 hour trip that took 8 hours. All the time chasing the "boys" trying to keep them safe. Thank goodness the girls are at the ages were they understand and can entertain themselves.
The following pretty much sums up day 1

*5 hr train ride turned into 8 hrs of "happy hours" for passengers behind and in front of us=$175

*Dinner at the only restaurant open at 10pm on a SUNDAY= $92
(btw: food was horrible and so was the service!)

*Child falling out of bed at 3 am and cutting eye open=effin priceless!
(just to top of the day/btw she is alright today, thank God it did not require stitches)

Day 2
Got better! But let me say, someone on that train must have rubbed some of their bad mojo on us. Their were still little things today that were just ridiculous. Im not being nit picky. It was stupid little things like a restaurant not serving us 45 mins before closing. For whatever reason. Then we finally get food and bring it to our room and there are no SPOONS! We freakin had soup!!
So if your stopping by tonight, leave me some good freaking positive energy! I need it for tomorrow!

I will end on a positive note. We took a family picture in front of a waterfall and it came out perfect with only one try!!! I am still amazed!

July 1, 2007

We're off.......

After a very stressful rainy week, we are off for vacation. We will be taking the train. This is a first. They boys should love it, esp. Nathan. He loves trucks and trains!
I will not disclose our destination at this time. However, I will be posting pictures soon!
Have a great week!

Lobster anyone ?

After a day at the beach, this is what we look like!

Ahhh Boys....

I really think I should devote an entire blog to just what the boys do!!

Here are just a few to share...

This would be Ashton's art work in the downstairs bathroom. He found a permanent marker and...well you can see what happens.

Nathan found my mascara in my purse. He used it as lip gloss!!

Things they say. ... Nathan was having a fit at the pool, while dealing with him I lost sight of Ashton. I looked and looked. So I was convinced that he was in the bathroom. So I asked one of the male employees to check in the men's. Why I thought he was only in the men's, I don't know... He was. The conversation we had.

Me: "Were you going potty?"

Ashton: " No, Mommy, I was taking a shower"

Then I further explained to him that you don't go to the potty unless you tell Mommy and how scared I was when I couldn't find him...etc etc etc..

Ashton "Mommy, I was just taking a S H O W E R! "

Point taken. He's three, what else do I say!

Hey YOU!

In Tahlequah! Email me. I want to know who you are!
Thanks

I'm so dizzy...

My head is spinning. Finally, a break from the craziness. No Vbs, no Swim lessons. Only scheduled fun. Before I know it, school will be back in session and our lives will be nutty again. So we are out to enjoy it while it last.

FATHER'S Day...
We cooked Lonnie breakfast, gave him his gifts. He loved them. One he will be showing off at the office.

One of the reasons I love Lonnie so much. .. I had a headache... so I took a shower and went back to bed for three hours. When I awoke, he had cleaned the kitchen!!! WOW. All on Father's day. What a MAN! I love him!

Then we went to the pool for a few hours. It was fun and relaxing.

FYI: It is always so hard for me to blog in the summer. We are so busy playing. Please keep checking in.

My TAD Awards: Pet peeve edition!

First of all I would like to thank Tori for the Tad Awards. Thanks Tori !!

#1. The Management at WALMART. What are they thinking hiring all those immigrants who don't speak English!! I was at WM the other day and needed some milk. I use organic milk. It was not stocked. So I asked the guy with the turban on his head, ( he was in the cooler behind the milk) if there was any of this milk. I could see it through the case in the back. I realize that he could not speak English when he was looking right at it and didn't grab it for me. So I point to it again and he shakes his head "no" to me. I was sooo pi**ed. If I knew how to get in there my self I would have!!

#2 I was at WM on another day.... a skanky girl and her skanky boyfriend were walking behind me and were making fun of my sunburn on my neck. I could hear her talking. She was like this " yea, I had this really bad sunburn on my neck and....." But then she was making fun of the way I was pushing my cart. "yea, if I had a cart I would push it like this" it valley girl talk. So at this point I want to turn around and say something. Instead I go down and isle and then I come back out behind them. I so wanted to go "W a n d a" on them. So I got really close to their heels and the boyfriend noticed me and then shot down the Jrs dept. What I would have said after I rammed their heels: "ooooh, I am sooo sorry, the sunburn must have gone to my brain!!"

#3 The over reactive neighbor.

When your dog gets out of your yard and your neighbor knows it's your dog and they call animal control!! Why not call you.

If you don't know who's dog it is don't hold it in your backyard. (unless you know the dog and then call the owner)If not call other neighbors and see if they know. Most dogs will make it back home when they are done sniffing the neighborhood. Okay so you are thinking. "I would call"

I would only call if it was a dog that obviously didn't looked cared for or aggressive dog and feared for the safety of my family

Please take a good look, if you see her out roaming the neighborhood. Please call me! I don't want to pay a $150 fine just because she got out. Okay so now that will bring me to #4

#4 the City of Lenexa's Animal control dept.
They are only in it to help the people who actually call. animal owners have zero rights in the matter. If they pick up your dog they will take it in...there is no warning. Automatic fine! And if you don't get there in time they will take your pet to the shelter and it will be put up for adoption!!

I better stop now or I could go on and on and on.

Sydney's Driving Lesson!

Sydney's driving lesson. Just a preview of what it will be like for us in about 12 years. Of course Ashton being soooo heroic and picking up the car and moving it in place for Syd. Okay, UMM I hope he doesn't try that in the future. This is sooo funny!!

A TASTE OF SUMMER...............

We are so ready for life to slooooooooooooww down a bit. Soccer is over. Swim lessons are over tomorrow. Ashton and Sydney are out of school. Raegan gets out on the 30th. Swim lessons will start again on June 4-14 as will VBS. After the 14th our real summer vacation will begin. I look forward to spending time with all 4 children. I also look forward to saving some money on gas not boot scootin' all the kids around.

We will be basically just hanging out, going to the pool, being lazy. We do have some goals for the summer. Raegan wants to learn all of the States and some information about them. Ashton and Sydney will soak up some of that too. I find it hard to put my kids in any summer activities. I want them to have a break from doing something and being committed to something. I want them to relax and have fun.

Here are the kids enjoying a "taste" of summer.

I also have the most hilarious video to share. Soon!

I am blessed !

Do you remember Christine McFadden? She has been on the Oprah show a few times. She had four children. Her ex husband came to her house one morning and shot and killed all four of them. She could not move on. Every time she has been on the show I have cried and cried. She is always in my heart. She came on a second time and like 16 viewers were touched by her and choose life. She gave them hope. She was on again today. The story still upsets me. However, she has found love again with a new husband and twin girls.

Being a mother is the hardest thing you have ever done in your life. As rewarding and fulfilling it is, it is hard. There are so many days and moments that I just want to give up! Walk out the door and never look back. Then I think about the life they would have. They would always be telling themselves, " what did I do, why was I not good enough" etc etc.... As you know I am not one to just give up I am a fighter.
God has given me new life. He gave me the best man on earth and four beautiful, wonderful, intelligent, loving children. I have gifts. I feel blessed. I have gratitude for what I have and the responsibilities that God has given me. I have the job of raising and teaching my children how to continue this ( I cant even put it into words) Christine's story puts it into perspective for me.

I was overwhelmed with joy for Christine. I am soo happy for her. Yet, I will always have her and her story close to my heart.

And now to top it off. Nathan was soooooo excited to see Lonnie when he came home that he fell down the porch steps. All of them! My poor baby! The previous pictures where taken like 1 1/2 hours ago.

New meaning to "Pink Plunge"

It is ONLY TUESDAY!! I was in UC all day with this little booger yesterday(he cut his leg, he is okay). Then today Sydney was diagnosed with a bladder infection. I was trying to make my little girl feel better by painting her toes. I turn my head for a second and this is what happens.(BTW: Raegan was right next to him and was sooo enthralled in choosing her paint color she didn't noticed. Nathan is a little stinker. He opened the
"Pink Plunge" ,hence the name. He knew what he was doing. He knew soo well that his toes are stuck!!

KIDS SAY THE CUTEST THINGS

On the way home from eating out, Ashton was drinking one of the drinks. I was wondering if it was water or Lemonade.
I ask, "Ashton, What are you drinking?"
Ashton answers after taking a long hard drink " Wemonade"
Lonnie says: "The perfect thing to quench a Man's thirst, some womenade!!"

My laugh for the day!!
