Today is Sydney's fifth birthday. Lonnie and I took her to breakfast at Panera for muffins and quiche! She was quite surprised this morning when we woke her up at 7:30. Afterwards we went shopping at Target. She had birthday money from G'pa and G'ma. She had a great time spending that money without the influence of older sister!! Y'all know what I mean. Then we had a great time hanging out at the local aquatic center. At last, she choose to eat at T-REX cafe. For those of you not here in KC....If you have ever been to Rain Forest cafe....it is the same thing but with dinos! In fact it is by the same peps.
We have had a full day. It kept me busy "not thinking" of how fast they are all growing. But then it hit me at dinner and now that I am bloggin' about it, it brings me to tears.(tune in for future post). See below for "Sydney's story"
Me and my sweet Syd
Syd's birthday dinner.
A little bit on Sydney.
Sydney is a very sweet child. She cares a lot about other people. She is shy and stubborn. She has always been afraid of the carwash. She is the healthiest eater out of all of my children.(she has eaten salad since she was one).
Her beauty takes my breath away. Her eyes are as dark as ebony.
She was my hipster baby, you know the baby you could never ever ever put down.
When she turned three we had to put a stop to it. She has done well. She was my first child born at home and my only child born in the middle of the day. (others at night). Raegan was 2 1/2 when she was born. I had hyped up "baby Sydney" for months. Raegan had been swimming all the time I was in labor and then Sydney was born while she was napping. When she awoke. She came to see her new sister. She said "MY BABY, MY BABY!" . She was thrilled to have her. It was a real live baby "doll" to her. She did not let anyone but me and her hold Sydney. It was horrible how protective she was. Lonnie had to ask for permission to hold Syd. It was out of the question for my mom to hold her. It was cute. I was so proud of the proud big sister. She was sooo sweet to her. I remember having a feeling of such pride in the love she showed to her. Five years later.......it's a different story. They are still close sisters and I hope will always be that way.
I love you Sydney!
